Pre-requisites: The course focuses on the Job Role related to Team Leader (Level-5) in a retail store as per the guidelines of National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). The course is meant to be offered to those who have specific knowledge and skills related to Sales Associate (Level-4)
Aim: This course aims at imparting the essential skills of operations of retail store, product display and hygiene as well as the importance of a Sales Associate in the Retail business.

Brief description of modules/ Main modules:
Module I: Introduction to Retail Store Operations (25hours + 5hours = 30 hours)
Store Processes; Retail Mix: Introduction, Concept, Relevance and Activities; Importance - Pre-store Opening, Store Opening and Closing; Store Merchandise Handling; Basics of Visual Merchandising.
Module II: Store Hygiene and Product Display (6 hours Theory + 4 hours Practical = 10 hours)
Store Hygiene and Cleanliness; Organising the Product Display at the Store - Product Labelling, Arranging and Maintaining Products for Display; Planning Visual Merchandising.
Module III: Functions and Responsibilities of Sales Associate (10hours + 2hours = 12 hours)
Functions and Skills of Sales Associate; Team Work; Inter-personal Communication among Team Members; Conflict Resolution; Etiquettes and Relationship; Task Objectives and Completion - Work Instructions; Problem Solving Mechanism; Health and Safety; Employee’s Motivation
Module IV: Managing Health, Safety and Security (6hours + 2hours = 8 hours)
Maintaining Healthy and Safety; Safe Lifting and Handling of Goods; Hazards; Reporting Hazards; Safety Concerns and Emergency Medical Plans; Evacuation Plans and Employee Health.
